Goal of this project is the development of tools for the identification and visualization of spatiotemporal structures that occur during the formation of weather fronts, with a focus on cold fronts, to achieve a better understanding of these multi-scale phenomena. Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, der Deutsche Wetterdienst hat in diesem Jahr ein Programm gestartet, das sich mit der Verbesserung von (Un-)Wetterwarnungen beschäftigt (s. https://www.tagesschau.de/inland/wetterdienst-warnsystem-ahrtalflut-101.html) Im Rahmen dieses Programms sind zurzeit vier Projektstellen ausgeschrieben, die vielleicht für Eure Absolventen interessant sein könnten. In zwei dieser Stellen geht es um die Mitarbeit an der Entwicklung eines Warnportals, über das sowohl individuell konfigurierbare als auch Standardwarnungen bereitgestellt und visualisiert werden. Eine dieser Stellen beschäftigt sich mit der Gestaltung der Architektur des Warnportals, während die andere sich vor allem um Front-End und Visualisierung kümmert.
