As Austria's leading visual computing research center, VRVis Zentrum für Virtual Reality und Visualisierung Forschungs-Gmbh launched this award in 2022 to recognize application-oriented research projects from all over Europe that make a significant contribution to sustainable development. With this award, we put the spotlight on outstanding scientific work that uses visual computing to advance forward-looking solutions in line with the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We invite you to forward this information to your visual computing, computer graphics, visualization and computer science departments as well as to interested colleagues. Please also find attached a compact information sheet for displaying on notice boards or similar. All the important information in brief: • The award recognizes a person's research achievements. This success must be proven by one or more scientific publications and application(s) in the field. Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as VRVis members are excluded from the application process. • Applications can be made either by the applicant him/herself or by nomination from others. • Prize money: 5000 euros • Deadline for submission: October 31, 2024 • The VRVis Visual Computing Award will be presented on January 30, 2025 at the Visual Computing Trends Symposium in Vienna, Austria.
