Best Regards BIOSIG and CAST Organization Committee Call for Papers --------------- ************************************************ ** BIOSIG 2003 ** ** ** ** Biometrics and Electronic Signatures ** ** ** ** July 24th, 2003 ** ** Darmstadt, Germany ** ** ** ** http://www.biosig.org ** ** ** ** GI e.V. ** ************************************************ The BIOSIG working group, part of the German Gesellschaft fuer Informatik (GI), in cooperation with the Competence Center for Applied Security Technology (CAST, http://www.cast-forum.de) invites you to submit contributions to the BIOSIG 2003 conference. The working group "Biometrics and Electronic Signatures" is dedicated to the fundamentals, methods, techniques, processes, and implementations used to guarantee the authenticity and integrity of entities that are involved in information, communication and operating systems hosting applications that have a need for security, as well as to the related organizational and legal frameworks. To examine and develop these topics, and to congregate experts as well as interested persons, the working group BIOSIG hosts the "BIOSIG 2003" conference in Darmstadt, Germany. Topics of Interest ------------------ The topics presented at BIOSIG 2003 may include but are not limited to: Biometrics - Biometric algorithms, signatures and databases - Biometric methods and techniques - Admission and access control using biometric systems - Evaluation, testing and benchmarking of biometric algorithms and systems - Attacking biometric algorithms, techniques and systems - Monitoring and tracking with biometrics - Aspects of privacy and data protection when using biometrics - Biometrics and multilateral security Electronic Signatures - Cryptographic algorithms for signature methods - Security services and mechanisms based on electronic signatures - Products and systems for the application of signatures - Usage of signatures within organizational, technical and legal frameworks - Applications relying on certificate based infrastructures - Aspects of legal frameworks - Standardization and interoperability Smartcards and Tokens - Card design - Card specific security characteristics - Security mechanisms - Card operating systems - Personalization processes - Integrated card applications with biometrics and electronic signatures Access Control and Operating Systems - Models and technical procedures of access control - Enforcement of authentication procedures by directly including operating system mechanisms - Security through authenticity as a design principle for operating systems - Security characteristics and weaknesses of existing systems - Security enhancement for existing systems, especially related to authentication and based on open source Papers on algorithms, data structures, and protocols in the outlined topics are explicitly appreciated. Notes on Paper Submissions -------------------------- The Working Group BIOSIG invites you to submit scientific contributions ("Full Papers") which are limited to a maximum of 8 pages and will be reviewed by the program committee. Paper submissions due: April 11th, 2003 Notification of acceptance: May 9th, 2003 Final papers (camera-ready for proceedings) due: May 30th, 2003 Templates for paper submissions are available at http://www.biosig.org/biosig2003/guidelines.html Papers should be sent to biosig2003(a)biosig.de Submissions should contain the author's names, affiliation, contact addresses, and the title of the submitted paper.
